Liverpool begins its defense of the Carabao Cup this evening, and the Reds will be aiming to get their name in the hat for the fourth round draw tonight.

Arne Slot’s side takes on West Ham at Anfield as they enter the competition at the third round stage. The Dutchman will be expected to make plenty of changes for the tie as he juggles Liverpool’s domestic and European commitments.

The Carabao Cup represents Slot’s first chance at silverware as Liverpool head coach, and he will be aiming to emulate his predecessor. Jurgen Klopp of course led the Reds to victory at Wembley over Chelsea back in February as the German claimed his final piece of silverware in charge of the club.

Should Liverpool see off West Ham tonight, they will find out their next opponents almost immediately. Here’s all you need to know about the Carabao Cup fourth round draw.

When is the Carabao Cup fourth round draw?

The fourth round draw will take place this evening (September 25) after Liverpool’s clash with West Ham is concluded, with the Reds’ encounter the later of the two games in action on Wednesday.

That means the draw will likely take place at around 10pm UK time (5pm ET, 2pm PT in the US), as long as Liverpool’s game doesn’t go to a penalty shootout – there is no extra-time in the Carabao Cup until the semi-final stage.

How to watch the draw

Fans in the UK will be able to watch the draw on Sky Sports Football once Liverpool’s game has been concluded. The game is being streamed live in the US on Paramount+. Alternatively, Liverpool.com will bring you the draw as it happens on our live match blog, when we hope the Reds will have secured their spot in the next round.

What are the ball numbers?

The ball numbers for the fourth round draw have not yet been announced, but will be confirmed later today ahead of tonight’s games. Two of Arsenal, Bolton, Liverpool and West Ham will enter the draw this evening, while both Newcastle and AFC Wimbledon will share a number after their game was postponed this week due to flooding at the latter’s ground.

When is the Carabao Cup fourth round?

Fourth round ties are scheduled to take place the week commencing Monday, October 28. That means, should Liverpool make it through against West Ham this evening, they will face yet another busy week.

The Reds travel to Arsenal for a huge top-of-the-table clash on Sunday, October 27, meaning a fourth round game would likely take place on Wednesday to give them time to recover and prepare.

Liverpool will have to come through five games in order to book their place at Wembley again as they look to defend their crown. The quarter-finals are scheduled for the week of December 16, while the two-legged semi-finals take place on the weeks of January 6 and February 3, with the final on March 16.
