Carlos Condit Predicts Robbie Lawler vs. Rory MacDonald UFC 189 Winner Will Be…

Is UFC 189 Where Rory MacDonald Emerges from Georges St-Pierre's Shadow?

Fourth-ranked welterweight Carlos Condit had a successful return to the octagon at UFC Fight Night 67, defeating Thiago Alves by TKO, after being sidelined for fourteen months due to a knee injury.

“The Natural Born Killer” will paying close attention to the UFC 189 title fight between champion Robbie Lawler and Rory MacDonald on July 11, and predicts that the outcome will be different than when the two first fought at UFC 167.

“I’m going to say Rory MacDonald (is going to win),” Condit recently predicted.

Lawler narrowly defeated MacDonald in their first fight, winning by split decision. Condit believes MacDonald played it too safe the first time around and will not in the rematch.

“He’s looked so good in his recent fights. His first fight [against Lawler] he was very conservative. I think he’s going to open up a little bit. And I think that he’s going to take it,” said Condit.

Regardless who emerges with the belt on July 11, Condit wants to face the winner.

“Whoever has the title after Lawler and Rory fight, I want that guy.”
