NFL-Panthers beat Cardinals to reach Super Bowl

Jan 24 (Reuters) - Quarterback Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers routed the Arizona Cardinals 49-15 to claim the National Football Conference title on Sunday and set up a Super Bowl 50 clash against the Denver Broncos. Newton ran for two scores and threw for two more, and the defence forced seven turnovers to reach the Feb. 7 NFL championship outside San Francisco. Earlier, Denver edged last year's champion New England Patriots 20-18 for the AFC title. (Reporting by Larry Fine; Editing by Andrew Both)
