Castleford's Hall of Fame member John Sheridan has died at the age of 78, the club have confirmed.
Sheridan, who passed away on Tuesday morning, made over 300 appearances for the club between 1955 and 1966 and returned to coach them in the 1970s.
"I had the privilege of working with John, sharing in his enthusiasm and experiencing his fantastic ability to spot young talent in the game," said Castleford chief executive Steve Ferres.
