Casper Ruud vs Novak Djokovic is the showdown match at the ATP Finals on Sunday and the former is gunning for a record-equaling trophy while Ruud is hoping for a maiden season-ending title.

Five-time champion Djokovic secured a 7-6 (7-5), 7-6 (8-6) win over Taylor Fritz to reach his eighth final while Ruud scored a 6-2, 6-4 win over Andrey Rublev to reach the final of the showpiece tournament for the first time.

Besides a shiny trophy, there are several other things on the spell on the indoor hard courts at the Pala Alpitour as Djokovic is playing for the biggest cheque in tennis history while Ruud is chasing the No 2 spot in the ATP Rankings.

Djokovic remains unbeaten in the tournament as he won all three of his matches in the Red Group, defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas, Daniil Medvedev and Andrey Rublev to reach the last four. Ruud claimed wins over Felix Auger-Aliassime and Taylor Fritz in the Green Group while he lost against Rafael Nadal.

Ruud, though, will need to secure his first-ever win over Djokoviv if he is to win the title as he lost his previous three encounters. In fact, he is yet to win a set against the 21-time Grand Slam winner as he lost in straight sets at the 2022 Italian Open, 2021 ATP Finals and 2020 Italian Open.

Prize money and ATP Ranking points up for grabs

Djokovic will walk away with a cool $4.7 million if he defeats Ruud on Sunday and it will be the biggest payday in the sport. If he finishes as up runner-up then he will start get a massive $2,539,900 cheque.

Currently ranked No 7, Djokovic will add 1,500 to his total of 3,320, but that will only be good enough to move in up to No 5 in the season-ending ATP Rankings.

Ruud, meanwhile, will earn a handsome $4,357,000 and 1,300 ranking points if he wins. Finishing runner-up will see him collect $2,156,600 and 800 ranking points. Victory will see Ruud finish second in the ATP Rankings behind Carlos Alcaraz, but ahead of Rafael Nadal.

In the doubles final, Nikola Mektić and Mate Pavić will take on Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury and Mektić is the only one to have won the title as he teamed up with Wesley Koolhof back in 2020 to win the title.

Both teams are undefeated so the winners will $930,300 and 1,500 ranking points while the runners-up will earn $579,900 and 1,000 ranking points.
