Keep up to date with the latest injury news in Casualty Ward, this week including Chris Hill and Cade Cust.
Wigan half-back Cade Cust and Huddersfield prop Chris Hill both sustained injuries during the Challenge Cup final over the weekend.
Cust, 23, left the field during the second half due to a suspected shoulder injury. Receiving treatment on the field and looking in discomfort, he was replaced by returning skipper Thomas Leuluai.
Meanwhile, 34-year-old Hill left the field on 20 minutes due to a leg injury. It was the England international’s fifth appearance in a cup final, having won it twice with Warrington.
Theo Fages was also ruled out ahead of the clash and is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines, according to head coach Ian Watson.
On Hill, Watson said: “People with that level of experience are massive in these kind of games.
“I thought Chris Hill was outstanding. To lose him was a big, big blow.
“We think it’s his calf. We’ll have to send him for a scan, so we’re not sure how long it will be.”
Hull KR hoping to welcome back duo
Tony Smith is hoping to welcome back duo Mikey Lewis and Sam Wood for their clash with Salford this Sunday.
24-year-old Wood suffered a dislocated patella earlier in May. He was taken off during the Robins‘ defeat to Leeds with fears that he initially picked up an ACL injury.
The Craven Park side are already without Jordan Abdull, who has been ruled out for the rest of the season through a quad injury.
Meanwhile, Leeds youngster Harry Newman returned to full training last week. Injuries have prevented the 22-year-old to just one appearance this season.
