Catalans Dragons confirm lengthy injury for Wakefield Trinity bound forward Mike McMeeken
Catalans Dragons have confirmed that England forward Mike McMeeken will be out for 14 weeks with a substantial thumb injury. McMeeken, who will now miss the mid-season international against France later this month, suffered a fracture to his thumb and has recently gone surgery to correct the issue.
He will now start his recovery and rehab process, with the Catalans juggernaut, who has signed for Wakefield Trinity for the 2025 season and beyond, set to be back at the climax of the current Super League campaign.
As it stands, McMeeken will hope to return at the end of the regular rounds, with Catalans poised for a play-off finish. The Dragons currently sit in fifth spot with eight wins from their 13 games so far.

The club confirmed in a statement: "Catalans Dragons will be without Mike McMeeken for a lengthy period. The England international suffered a fracture to his thumb. He successfully underwent surgery to repair the injury and will be unavailable for 14 weeks."
Wakefield, meanwhile, have signed McMeeken on a four-year deal from next year. His Catalans teammate, Tom Johnstone, will also ply his trade at the West Yorkshire club in 2025, who look set for a return to the topflight after being relegated last season.
