Catalans extend Huddersfield's winless run

Huddersfield Giants have not savoured a victory since February after they were outscored by five tries to four by Catalans Dragons.

Catalans Dragons stretched struggling Huddersfield Giants' winless run to seven Super League games with a 29-22 away victory on Wednesday.

Former Newcastle Knights full-back Jake Mamo scored a try in a lively Giants debut, but Rick Stone's men were unable to claim a first triumph since late February.

Catalans, on the other hand, were able to celebrate back-to-back wins after scoring five tries in West Yorkshire - three coming in the second half.

The Dragons led 12-10 at half-time courtesy of converted tries from Tony Gigot and Brayden Wiliame, with Aaron Murphy crossing for Huddersfield before Mamo got on the end of a Sam Wood grubber to score in his first appearance for the club.

Richie Myler scored a third Catalans try and Vincent Duport added another four-pointer with acting Giants captain Danny Brough in the sin-bin for showing dissent to referee Chris Campbell.

Luke Walsh converted his own try to take his tally for the night to 12 points and Gigot added a drop-goal between tries from Jermaine McGillvary and Wood for the home side, who have won just two of 10 Super League games this season.
