How Celtic fans can still get their hands on Rangers Premier Sports Cup Final tickets as second chance emerges
Celtic fans have been given a second chance to secure tickets for next week's Old Firm Premier Sports Cup Final.
The Hoops have announced a second ballot for season ticket holders who were unsuccessful in the first sale. The vast majority of the initial allocation for the December 15 blockbuster was unsurprisingly snapped up by lucky punters. That left thousands disappointed, but the Parkhead club have offered a glimmer of hope to those who missed out by emailing fortunate supporters who met the criteria.
An update issued by the club today read: "Match tickets for the League Cup Final will be available at 2pm on Tuesday, December 3 for Season Ticket holders who were successful in the second ballot of those on the Home Cup Ticket Scheme. Celtic FC received an allocation of 21,846 tickets for this match."
As is always the case when Glasgow's bitter rivals meet, demand for tickets has been through the roof as fans scramble for the chance to witness the derby powderkeg. It could be an historic moment too, as Brendan Rodgers' men have the opportunity to overtake their Ibrox rivals on trophies, with both clubs currently tied on 118 major honours.
Under-fire Rangers boss Philippe Clement has yet to get the better of Rodgers in five meetings, with Celts winning four of the Glasgow derbies - including last season's dramatic Scottish Cup Final where Adam Idah scored a last-minute winner to ensure the bragging rights remained in Glasgow's east end.
