When Celtic will learn Champions League fixture dates as UEFA reveal release time

So, Celtic now know who they will be playing in this year's Champions League.

With the new format in place it is now known as the 'league' phase rather than the groups and the Hoops will have eight games to play rather than six. Instead of playing each time they're up against home and away, they will play seven different teams only once.

It is an exciting time to be a Hoops fan right now and being involved in the inaugural league format only adds to that. There are some glamour ties to look forward to as well, after they were pulled out the hat along with Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig and Aston Villa.

Fans will now be looking forward to away trips and booking them up shortly as they get planning for their jaunts around Europe. But hold your horses! It's not yet clear which dates they will be facing which teams and there will be a slight wait.

UEFA have stated that they will release that information at some point on SATURDAY. They need to consider logistical and security issues which also relate to fixtures in the Europa League and Conference League, with broadcasters also required to be taken into account.
