Former Rangers defender Alan Hutton insists Celtic will be “monitoring” potential replacements for attacking star Kyogo Furuhashi ahead of the summer window.

The Scottish Premiership leaders, who are on the brink of winning another title, are said to be braced from interest from the Premier League at the end of the season in the 29-year-old.

And Hutton believes the Hopps could land as much as £15million if they opt to cash in on the 29-year-old.

Crystal Palace are known to have watched the player this season, while Southampton are also keen on his services.

However, it’s understood that Ange Postecoglou’s men have no intention of letting their star man leave for less than £15m this summer.

The Japan international’s current contract runs until 2025, having become one of the first signings of the Postecoglou era when he joined from Vissel Kobe in 2021.

When asked if the Celts would be willing to sell Kyogo for £15m, Hutton told Football Insider: “I hope so.

“I would never say never in football and £15m is a lot of money for any Scottish team.

“He has been that outstanding player. He will no doubt win player of the year, he is a thorn in Rangers’ side constantly.

“He is 28 now so £15m is good. Plus the recruitment has been outstanding so it would not surprise me if Ange and his backroom staff are monitoring somebody to come in if that were to happen.

“It really depends on what money is on the table and who they have coming through.

“As a Rangers fan I would like to see him go but I should imagine Celtic fans would like to see him stay. The grass isn’t always greener so I think he will still be happy where he is.”

Celtic can clinch the Scottish Premiership title with a win when they head to Hearts on Sunday afternoon.
