Celtic continued to hold the bragging rights in Glasgow as they defeated Rangers to win the Scottish Cup today - and they also equalled their rivals' all-time trophy haul in a double dunt.

Today's success made it a league and cup double for the Hoops and with the Light Blues taking home the League Cup earlier in the campaign, that puts them both on 118 trophies and means the men from the east end of Glasgow can join their neighbours in laying claim to the title of Europe's most decorated club.

It's not the only record Rangers could boast over their foes but no longer can. A Celtic win means they are now equal in terms of Old Firm derbies won with both now on 169. And the Ibrox men were previously leading 62-61 in terms of domestic cups win so both are now level on that front as well.

Gers fans may have to alter their song book now with the lyrics "most successful team in football" not ringing true anymore. While the Hoops will be hoping they can continue their recent dominance to pull out ahead.

Despite the pain of their rivals winning 12 of the last 13 titles and most of the cup competitions, bluenoses have had that boast to cling onto but that has all changed now.

Celtic will also have the chance to go level on league titles next season. Rangers have 55 and this season's Premiership was 54 for the Hoops, meaning landing the Premiership trophy next season would be another record equaller.
