Celtic star relishing Rangers gap to Aberdeen as he admits 'big' title threat posed by former boss Jimmy Thelin
Gustaf Lagerbielke has admitted that Aberdeen pose a big title threat to Celtic and that it's "cool" that they are nine points ahead of Rangers.
Jimmy Thelin has taken the Scottish Premiership by storm, matching the champions point for point to remain unbeaten and sit second in the table on goal difference only. Gers have been forced to watch on from behind, slipping nine points adrift after last month's 2-1 defeat at Pittodrie, leaving Philippe Clement with virtually no further margin for error in the title race that they are in danger of being left for dead in.
Lagerbielke knows Thelin extremely well, the Swede having signed him for Elfsborg from Vasteras SK in 2021 befor ehis big money move to Celtic. Currently on loan at Twente, Lagerbielke, currently on loan at FC Twente, had had to make do with a few text messages with his former gaffer, but is loving how Thelin is upsetting the apple cart.

Asked about the Reds' title threat, Lagerbielke told FotbollSkanalen: “It’s incredibly big. Celtic and Rangers have won every title since the 80s. So, the fact that someone else is in the mix, at least for a little while, is a big deal. And you’re nine points ahead of Rangers too, which is really cool.
“It’s great fun. We have had some contact during the time in Scotland and also before he moved there. So, it’s great that it’s going so well. It’s fantastic to be undefeated for so long and to take up the fight with Celtic, it’s incredibly well done.”
