Celtic troll Rangers over Ibrox delay issues as Hoops show off training ground progress

Celtic have taken the opportunity to wind up Rangers over their Ibrox delays as they showed off their own progress with their training ground.

Gers confirmed yesterday there was an issue with a delay in the delivery of parts from Asia which were due to arrive as part of the revamp of the Copland Road stand as improvements are made to disabled facilities. Those were meant to be done by the start of the season but will not be, causing problems for Philippe Clement's side.

They will now have to find an alternative 'home' venue for their early fixtures and while Hampden looks set to be offered, it's a far from ideal way to begin the campaign. It could already hand them a disadvantage against Celtic in the title race without home comforts to rely on in certain fixtures.

And the Hoops' social media team has wasted no time in sticking the boot in. Work is ongoing to do up the Barrowfield Training Centre in the east end, to create a new state-of-the-art facility for the academy and also the Women's first team.

The club have chosen the day after the news about Ibrox broke to show off the progress and cheekily wrote: "The Champions Forge ahead. Work progresses at pace at #CelticFC's new East End Training Centre."
