What is it?

The latest Old Firm derby. And for the first time in a decade Celtic face a new champion on their home turf as 2020-2021 title-winners Rangers come to visit. Rangers are on course for an unbeaten Premiership campaign, something Celtic and interim Parkhead boss John Kennedy would dearly love to stop.

Expect fireworks, especially after Rangers' title celebrations drew widespread ire for the way in which fans gathered in breach of lockdown rules. It even led to concerns the game might not go ahead with First Minister Nicola Sturgeon criticising the Ibrox club for their lack of leadership as she reviewed whether it would be safe for derby day to go ahead. Both clubs have reinforced the 'stay at home' message to fans as a result.

When is it?

The game in on Sunday, March 21.

What time is kick-off?

The match gets under way at midday, so Sunday lunchtime viewing.

What TV channel is it on?

What is the team news?

Rangers captain James Tavernier is sidelined and there could be a further issue at right-back with Nathan Patterson a fresh doubt.

What happened last time?

Celtic and Rangers have already faced off twice this season with the latter triumphing on both occasions. A Connor Goldson double earned a 2-0 victory at Celtic Park in October before a Callum McGregor own goal settled the contest in the home side’s favour in January's return fixture.

What have they been saying?

In the majority of Premier League clubs you don’t have that expectancy to have to win every single game. If we draw, it’s a borderline crisis. We love that energy and excitement.

  • Jamie Carragher: Steven Gerrard does not have to leave Rangers to prove he can one day manage Liverpool

Enough of the 'it's only Scotland' claims - his achievements, experience and passion would be a credit to any club, writes Carragher in one of his latest Telegraph columns.

The biggest tribute you can pay him is it is now Celtic who need to find someone of the required ilk to take on Gerrard. Best of luck with that. There's a new king of Scottish football and he looks ready to reign for a while.

  • Muddled tactics, Covid breaches and poolside beers - how Neil Lennon's Celtic return turned toxic

Celtic, shorn of their title, are currently regrouping under John Kennedy, who will face Rangers as interim boss for the first time. Read Roddy Forsyth's take on what went wrong for predecessor Neil Lennon here.

What's our prediction?

Celtic will be desperate to put a stop to Rangers' hopes of going the season unbeaten, especially after having conceded so much to their rivals this season. Form can easily go out of the window in these Old Firm games but Rangers are not newly crowned champions for nothing and hold the edge.

Verdict: Celtic 1 Rangers 2
