Celtic win the Treble Treble: Bhoys seal Scottish Cup Final comeback vs Hearts

Celtic have completed an historic Treble Treble after coming back from a goal down to beat Hearts 2-1 in the Scottish Cup Final.

Having already won the Scottish Premiership and Scottish League Cup for a third year running, Celtic had the chance to complete a domestic clean sweep against Hearts at Hampden Park.

The Bhoys' hopes took a blow in the 52nd minute as Ryan Edwards put Hearts ahead with a close-range finish, but Odsonne Edouard equalised from the penalty spot 10 minutes later.

And Edouard was Celtic's hero as he broke the offside trap to slam home a confident finish eight minutes from time to break Hearts' hearts and complete yet another Treble.

Neil Lennon gave Celtic winger Mikey Johnston the nod for the final, with the 20-year-old kept his place after scoring a double in last week's 2-1 league win over the Jambos, while 16-year-old forward Karamoko Dembele started on the bench.

Of the three Jambos injury doubts, midfielders Peter Haring and Arnaud Djoum declared themselves fit, with striker Uche Ikpeazu on the bench, but the big news was that 16-year-old Aaron Hickey was handed a start.

There were no goals and few chances in the first half at Hampden.

Hearts captain Christophe Berra produced several important clearances from wide balls and fellow centre-back John Souttar put in a vital tackle as Celtic broke dangerously.

Hearts winger Jake Mulraney delivered some decent crosses but the underdogs could not seriously test Celtic goalkeeper Scott Bain before the break.

Hearts took a shock lead in the 52nd minute through Edwards.

Edwards - who had to wait about 10 months to make his Hearts debut following his move from Partick Thistle - finished from seven yards.

Hickey was involved in the move and Sean Clare back-heeled the ball into Edwards' path.

Edouard equalised from the penalty spot in the 62nd minute after being brought down by Hearts goalkeeper Zdenek Zlamal.

The Frenchman reacted first to a ball down the left channel and Zlamal made a rash challenge before just being beaten by the penalty.

Edouard netted again in the 82nd minute to put Celtic 2-1 ahead.

The striker latched on to Mikael Lustig's header forward and finished brilliantly.

Lennon was reduced to tears at the final whistle as Celtic celebrated becoming the first team to seal all three Scottish domestic trophies for three straight years.
