The trio who brought the Champions League final to a standstill through pitch invasions have been arrested.

Wembley Stadium's spokesperson made it clear, stating: "It is illegal to enter the field of play at Wembley Stadium, and we strongly condemn the actions of those who interrupted the UEFA Champions League Final shortly after kick-off.

"All of the individuals have now been arrested. We will support the relevant authorities to ensure appropriate action is taken."

Wembley's security teams faced humiliation after Saturday night's high-stakes Champions League final was disrupted just one minute in due to numerous unwelcome pitch invaders.

The showdown between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund barely got going before three individual interrupters invaded the pitch, boldly approaching the players including Jude Bellingham, reports the Mirror. One of them managed to evade security momentarily and nearly vanished back into the stands before being nabbed.

Following the Euro 2020 final debacle where un-ticketed fans blasted their way into the venue, this was hardly the headline-grabbing incident Wembley needed as all attentions were supposed to be focused on the powerhouse event of the European club season.
