Jamie Ward and Gareth Roberts missed Derby's goalless draw with Brighton prior to the international break through hamstring injuries, while Frankie Fielding was also absent due to a groin problem.

Will Hughes was withdrawn at half-time of that match because of a knee injury and the quartet have since been working with County's medical staff during the domestic lull, with Clough refusing to rule any of the four out of Saturday just yet.

"They're all doing their own individual work and stepping up towards full fitness and we'd hope to, at least, see Gareth and Will back in contention as their injuries were only minor ones," he told the club's official website.

"With Jamie and Frank, it's a little less clear at the moment. We're guided by them to a degree and in Jamie's case, he knows his body having had a few injuries in the past and we'll see how he's looking towards the end of the week.

"It's a waiting game to a degree and if they're not ready we certainly won't be risking them, especially as we have three games coming up inside the next week or so."
