Championship outfit London Broncos have confirmed the release of Italy international Ronny Palumbo ahead of the 2023 campaign.

Palumbo, 31, was not included in the side’s squad numbers announcement earlier this week. He wore shirt number 18 in the capital last season.

The Australian-born player had re-signed for the 2023 campaign, having made 22 appearances in his debut year with London Broncos.

The forward also represented Italy at the delayed 2021 World Cup, featuring from the bench against Australia.

“London Broncos can confirm Ronny Palumbo has returned to Australia and will play no part in the club’s 2023 campaign,” the side said in a statement.

“The 31-year-old signed for the Broncos at the beginning of last season and made 22 appearances during his time in the capital.

“The club respects Ronny’s decision to return to his country of birth and departs with our very best wishes for the future.”
