Charlie Adam has lived up to his unfortunate reputation as one of the Premier League's most unfashionable players with a spectacularly bad corner fail.
The Stoke City midfielder is out of contract at the end of the season and the Scotland international is hoping to impress Mark Hughes in order earn a new deal at the bet365 stadium.
However Adam will have done his cause no good whatsoever on Tuesday evening after he produced a classic comedy moment in Stoke's midweek fixture at Burnley.
Ordinarily a reliable set piece taker the former Liverpool midfielder tripped up on approach to the ball before kneeing the ball out of the quadrant.
The accidental contact constituted a corner in the rule books - leaving Adam with nothing left to do but trot back to his half sporting a wry, embarrassed smile.
