Roland Duchatelet is edging closer to selling Charlton and a takeover could be completed next month.

The Belgian is in negotiations with two parties and director Richard Murray met representatives of the supporters’ trust at The Valley on Saturday and revealed progress is being made.

Although both consortiums are aware of the importance of the transfer window neither is rushing the process to get a deal done before the end of this month.

Murray believes Charlton could be sold in February but expects a takeover by this summer at the latest because Duchatelet does not want another season at the club losing money and with attendances dwindling.
