Charlton Athletic forward Reeco Hackett-Fairchild is set to miss the first day of pre-season training on Wednesday because he is still in Ibiza being investigated for an alleged sexual assault.

The 20-year-old was arrested earlier this month after an alleged attack on a 19-year-old British woman and it is believed he has been unable to return to London because his passport has been taken away.

His Charlton team-mate Karlan Ahearne-Grant, who was also arrested in connection with the incident, is expected to report to the club tomorrow when caretaker manager Lee Bowyer will begin preparations for the new season.

Forward Ahearne-Grant, also 20, is being investigated on suspicion of a privacy offence but not sexual assault and has been allowed to return home.

Hackett-Fairchild made 12 appearances for Charlton last term while Ahearne-Grant spent the second half of the season on loan at Crawley Town in League Two.

Meanwhile, Bowyer has made signing a new goalkeeper a priority this summer. Ben Amos has returned to Bolton following his loan spell at The Valley, meaning Dillon Phillips, 23, and Ashley Maynard-Brewer, 19, are the two most senior goalkeepers at the club.
