Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich will reportedly hand his new manager the handsome sum of £130m to rejuvenate the squad after a disappointing season that will see the club miss out on a top four place and Champions League football.
Despite late rumours about Manuel Pellegrini, Chelsea are being widely tipped to appoint Antonio Conte. According to the Sun, further talks are being planned with the Italian in an attempt to get the deal over the line.
It is said that Abramovich wants to give the new boss as many as four big signings with which to shape a new chapter at the Bridge.
As such, the report goes on to reveal that technical director Michael Emenalo has been busy scouting players in Italy and was at the Champions League game between Juventus and Bayern Munich earlier this week.
Arturo Vidal is just one of the big names on the club's radar, while it is appears likely that the 2014/15 Premier League champions will resurrect their interest in John Stones after failing to prise him away from Everton last summer.
According to Tuttosport, Paul Pogba remains another expensive target. Chelsea have been linked with the French star, another Emenalo would have seen at close quarters in Turin, for some time. Now, the club is said to already be actively working on a deal.
As far as exits are concerned, John Terry still appears destined to end his long association with Stamford Bridge at the end of the season. The captain has been very vocal about the lack of a new contract offer.
Diego Costa has persistently been linked with a move back to Spain. It had been rumoured that the possible arrival of Diego Simeone as Chelsea boss might tempt him to stay. That no longer seems an option, but a reunion at Atletico Madrid still seems highly plausible.
Eden Hazard is the other big name that could depart. However, recent rumours s uggesting that the Belgian only has eyes for Real Madrid and is otherwise happy to stay might actually serve to lessen the chance of him leaving.
