Chelsea midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu didn't mince his words with Arsenal legend Thierry Henry after the France head coach left him out of the upcoming Olympics squad for the men's football tournament.

The Blues midfielder would've been hopeful about making the 18-man roster for this summer's competition after a tough season at Stamford Bridge under Mauricio Pochettino that saw him start just six times across all competitions this season.

With the arrival of Moises Caicedo in the summer, Ugochukwu was already falling down the pecking order in the middle of the park behind the likes of Conor Gallagher and Enzo Fernandez, and he played just 213 minutes over the first 13 league matches of the season.

But a hamstring injury meant he missed four straight matches against Manchester United, Everton, Sheffield United and their Carabao Cup quarter-final clash against Newcastle United before returning straight into the starting lineup against Wolves.

However, he'd exacerbate the hamstring issue with such a quick turnaround and was forced off after just 58 minutes, leading to him missing almost the entirety of the second half of the season, only making his return in time for a minute-long cameo against Brighton and a 26-minute appearance in the Blues' last game of the season against Bournemouth.

But Ugochukwu won't be finding any more minutes this summer, despite hoping to be a key part of Henry's squad at the Olympics later this month. It was announced that the star would be left on the reserve list in case of injuries, meaning he's extremely unlikely to go to the tournament.

Posting photos of him in the warmup matches for the tournament on Instagram, Ugochukwu simply captioned the post "It is what it is!" in response to being left out of the squad. He also added "Joshua 1:9" to the caption, a verse from the Old Testament of the Bible that reads: "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."
