Chelsea look to have reacted swiftly to news of Benjamin Sesko's decision to stay at RB Leipzig. The Slovenia international was being strongly linked to a Premier League transfer with Arsenal and Manchester United also interested however he has chosen to continue his development in Germany by agreeing a new contract.

Viktor Gyokeres, Alexander Isak and Victor Osimhen were all other forwards linked to summer transfers, however Sesko was always the preferred choice. That is because the £55million release clause in his current deal was an affordable one for interested parties in comparison to the triple-figure fees being mooted for the other strikers.

Following on from Sesko's decision, Joshua Zirkzee has emerged as a target for Arsenal and Manchester United., however Chelsea appear to be looking elsewhere. According to The Telegraph, the Blues have rekindled their interest in Aston Villa star Jhon Duran with the 20-year-old moving closer to the top of the club's striker wishlist.

The Colombia international scored eight goals from just 1,103 minutes played in all competitions which also saw him bag one goal for every 93 minutes of Premier League football played. The importance and form of Ollie Watkins often forced him to play a limited role but when called upon, he frequently delivered with his late brace against Liverpool helping Villa seal Champions League qualification.

As such, he may not be keen on another season as a back-up option with Chelsea wanting to act on their interest. The Blues already have Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson in their ranks but Duran would add a new set of qualities.

Sanctioning a transfer for Duran though is where the challenge may lie with Villa's financial woes likely meaning they will demand a sizeable fee. However, Chelsea may have the perfect solution to signing Duran without forking out funds by using Armando Broja in a swap deal.

The Cobham academy graduate spent the second half of last season on loan at Fulham and after that unsuccessful spell, Chelsea are open to selling Broja this summer, as football.london understands. In the January transfer window, Chelsea were demanding £50million to sell, however they are expected to lower their asking price with a potential Duran swap deal an option.

Villa have already shown they are open to such proposals with midfielder Douglas Luiz in talks to join Juventus which would see Weston McKennie, Samuel Iling Junior and €20million (£16.9m) head to Villa Park.
