FA charges Chelsea coach Marco Ianni over touchline antics
Chelsea coach Marco Ianni has been charged with improper conduct for his part in Saturday’s touchline stoush with Jose Mourinho at the end of their 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge.
For his part in the fracas, Mourinho has been ‘formally reminded of his responsibilities’ but will escape any further punishment.
Both clubs have also received similar reminders about the behaviour “expected of staff and players” while in the technical area.

Ianni, who is a member of Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri’s backroom team, could now expect a fine, warning or even a ban following the row.
The incident occurred when Ross Barkley scored the Blues’ equalising goal deep into injury time, prompting Ianni to celebrate the goal wildly in front of the United dugout leading.
An enraged Mourinho attempted to catch up with the Chelsea coach and had to be held back by stewards, before current Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri stepped in to help calm tempers.
Sarri immediately apologised to his opponent along with Ianni and took the blame for the incident, which Mourinho accepted.
An FA statement read: “Chelsea coach Marco Ianni has been charged following the game against Manchester United on Saturday.
“It is alleged that his behaviour in the 96th minute constituted improper conduct.
“In relation to this incident, Jose Mourinho has been formally reminded of his responsibilities, whilst both clubs have received similar official reminders in terms of the behaviour expected of their staff and players at all times whilst in the technical area.”
