Chelsea Conference League opponents confirmed as Blues face trips to Kazakhstan and Greece
Chelsea’s opponents for the UEFA Europa Conference League have been confirmed.
Enzo Maresca’s side will face trips top Germany, Kazakhstan and Greece in this year's edition of the UEFA Europa Conference League. The official fixture schedule will be decided on Saturday.
Chelsea's opponents for the group stage: Gent (h), Heidenheim (a), Astana (a), Shamrock Rovers (h), Panathinaikos (a) and Noah (H)
Chelsea qualified for the competition after finishing sixth in the Premier League last season but were pipped to a UEFA Europa League spot as a result of Manchester United winning the FA Cup - which allowed them to enter UEFA's second-tier competition.
The Blues were drawn out of Pot 1 according to their UEFA coefficient ranking alongside the likes of last year’s finalists Fiorentina. All 36 teams were manually drawn using physical balls. For every team manually drawn, a designated automated software will randomly draw six opponents across the six pots. The software also decided which matches will be at home and which ones away. Teams from the same country could not be drawn together.
40,000-seater arena, Stadion Wrocław in Wroclaw, Poland will host the final of this year's competition.
