Chelsea have completed the £90million signing of Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz in another huge move from Frank Lampard’s side.

Havertz, 21, had been granted permission by the German FA to leave the national squad's camp on Friday in order to complete his long-awaited move to Stamford Bridge.

One of Europe’s most coveted young stars, Havertz has signed a long-term deal at Stamford Bridge, joining fellow Germany international Timo Werner in west London alongside another attacking star in Hakim Ziyech.

The deal, which will see Chelsea pay around £72m up front to Bayer Leverkusen, will take the Blues' spending past the £220m mark for the summer.

Real Madrid and Bayern Munich were also keen on the 21-year-old, with Manchester United also interested earlier this year.

Havertz scored 18 goals and provided nine assists in his final season at Leverkusen, and adds more firepower to a Chelsea who will now be expected to compete for the Premier League title.

Along with Havertz, Werner and Ziyech, Chelsea have also signed left-back Ben Chilwell from Leicester City along with Thiago Silva on a free from PSG.
