Chelsea are set to welcome back Omari Kellyman within the next four weeks as he continues to recover from a serious hamstring injury. The 19-year-old joined the Blues from Aston Villa for £19million during the summer but has seen the start to his career at Stamford Bridge disrupted.

Kellyman had played three times for the Under 21s, scoring twice during a 4-2 defeat to Leipzig in the Premier League International Cup before sustaining the issue. It was confirmed in September that Kellyman would miss a significant amount of time and he still hasn't returned yet.

However, there has since been a positive update regarding Kellyman's condition. According to the Daily Mail, he is scheduled to return inside the next month in news that will drive as a boost to the Blues. Kellyman is yet to make his senior debut for Chelsea but is now expected to return before the Christmas period.

Kellyman started his career at Derby County and progressed through the youth system before being named in the first-team squad for the first time in November 2021. Aged 16 at the time, Kellyman was promoted to work with the senior set-up by Wayne Rooney during Derby's off-field financial troubles.

But in March 2022, Kellyman left Derby to join Villa in a deal worth £600,000. He signed his first professional contract in the September of that year before making his first-team debut the following season during a 3-0 win over Hibernian in the Europa Conference League.

He made his Premier League bow against Manchester City in April and featured six times for the Villains across all competitions last season. However, Kellyman's short time at Villa Park came to an end as he made the big-money switch to Chelsea in June, with the midfielder signing a six-year contract.

Speaking after his move to West London, Kellyman said: "It is fantastic to be standing here as a Chelsea player. It's a massive club with an amazing history, so it is great to join. It is a dream come true for sure. I'm buzzing to have put on the shirt and can't wait to get started."
