Chelsea continued their fine run of recent form on Tuesday night with a 5-0 win over League Two side Barrow in the Carabao Cup.

Christopher Nkunku scored a hat-trick at Stamford Bridge, his first for the club, with Pedro Neto netting his first goal for the Blues since his summer move from Wolves. Paul Farman put the ball into his own net in the first half in a convincing display by Enzo Maresca's men.

"Very happy with the performance, with the result," Maresca told reporters after. "We did many changes, but the idea from the team was exactly the same. This has to be one of our targets, no matter how we are going to play, it is important that the identity of the team is always there.

"This type of game, I'm always worried a lot because they are tricky games. Football is full of these games, where you underestimate the other team; you concede goals and you concede chances but tonight I think the performance was very good and we showed how serious we are."

Osimhen talks 'reopened'

Chelsea have reportedly renewed their interest in Victor Osimhen despite his recent move to Galatasaray. The striker moved to Turkey from Napoli after an agreement on a transfer to London failed to be reached.

The 25-year-old is only on loan at Galatasaray and is expected to return to Naples at the end of the season. TEAMtalk has reported that the Blues have held 'fresh talks' with Osimhen's representatives over a move in 2025 to the club.

football.london says: "We are less than a month from the transfer window closing and the rumours linking Chelsea with Osimhen again are already starting.

"The fact that they failed to land him in the summer means there are complications over a deal. A year in Turkey may help him realise that the Premier League is different but it's hard to see how a deal can be constructed.

"However, if the Blues still need a centre-forward next summer, who is going to say no?"

Maresca drops Chilwell hint

Enzo Maresca has hinted that Ben Chilwell may have the chance to play more minutes for Chelsea after he made his return to action against Barrow.

Chilwell had been made available for transfer in the summer but no move happened meaning he remained in west London. He came on at half-time for Malo Gusto and received a nice reception from the home fans.

After the game, Maresca credited the left-backs attitude. "It was not easy for Chilly," he said. "He didn't get any minutes this season but he has shown he is there, he is ready and working well. There is not any problem. If we have a chance, we will give him some more minutes in games."

football.london says: "Ben Chilwell has been a good servant for Chelsea so it was always going to be viewed as harsh when he was excluded by Maresca in the summer. However, with no exit materialising before the transfer window shut, the Italian now has a good option at his disposal.

"Chilwell is loved by supporters and the reception he got on Tuesday would have meant a lot to him. With Gusto the first-choice right-back and Marc Cucurella seemingly Maresca's favourite on the left, Chilwell could still have a future with a point to prove."
