Chelsea produced a determined display to reach the FA Cup final and end Manchester City’s hopes of winning an historic quadruple.

Here’s how Thomas Tuchel’s side rated at Wembley...

Kepa Arrizabalaga 6

So well shielded by the players in front of him. Did well when called upon.

Cesar Azpilicueta 7

Absolutely rock solid. Sterling and Jesus tried to run him down at various points, but he was equal to them every time.

Thiago Silva 8

Used all his experience to manage Chelsea’s rear-guard and was immovable in the centre. Tuchel will have to hope his injury, picked up late on, is not a serious one.

Antonio Rudiger 7

Chelsea’s defence were so rarely stretched by City and Rudiger was key to that with his disciplined performance denying any room behind him.

Reece James 7

Quality cross to Chilwell in the first half deserved a better finish. Far more of an attacking threat than his opposite number Mendy.

N’Golo Kante 9

Seized on the ball in midfield and drove right through the heart of City. A tireless performance unmatched by anyone in light blue.

Jorginho 9

A performance that oozed class. Won the ball so often and always provided an option to his teammates to get them out of trouble.

Ben Chilwell 7

Found dangerous positions on the left, but didn’t make the most of them. Could have done better with a first half shot – then picked the wrong ball with time to cross in a promising position.

Mason Mount 7

Harrassed Fernandinho with his runs through midfield. So much so that City’s captain was very lucky to stay on the pitch after repeated fouls.

Hakim Ziyech 8

Hurt City with his runs and made one pay when he fired Chelsea ahead in the second half. Kept finding the gaps to exploit City’s defence, either with his runs or passing.

Timo Werner 7

Clever interchange with Ziyech, switching from right to centre caught City out repeatedly. Provided his 12th assist of the season in all competitions for Ziyech’s strike.

Substitutes

Christian Pulisic (Mount, 70’) 6

Thought he had another Wembley goal, but was ruled out for offside.

Kai Havertz (Werner, 79’) 5

Given few chances to stretch City after coming on.

Emerson (Ziyech, 79’) 5

Brought on in an attacking role, but spent most of it defending.

Zouma (Silva, 88’)

Important late header denied Rodri and potential equaliser.

Unused: Caballero, Alonso, Gilmour, Hudson-Odoi, Giroud
