Chelsea have joined the race to sign Borussia Dortmund winger Karim Adeyemi, according to reports in Italy.

The 22-year-old struggled for regular starts for Dortmund last season, and it has been reported that the club are willing to cash in on him during the summer transfer window. Bild claimed last month that he was valued at €30 million (£25.4m).

Juventus are the team to be credited with the most interest in the winger, but it now seems that they could have competition from Chelsea. Gazzetta dello Sport claim that the Blues have ‘come forward’ for the players and are now a ‘threat’ to Juventus’ hopes of completing a deal.

Adeyemi made 34 appearances for Dortmund last season, scoring five goals, although most of those came from the bench. He has four full caps for Germany but has not made an international appearance since 2022 and was left out of the squad for the current Euro 2024 tournament.

Chelsea have already been active in the summer transfer window as the club back new head coach Enzo Maresca. Tosin Adarabioyo, Marc Guiu, Omari Kellyman and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall have all completed moves to Stamford Bridge, while Esteveo Willian will also move next summer.

The Blues are now closing in on another triple signing. Defender Renato Veiga is on the verge of joining Chelsea, with a move for Aaron Anselmino also in the final stages.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Chelsea are closing in on a move for full-back Caleb Wiley. But the USA U23 international will join sister club Strasbourg.

The 19-year-old currently plays for Major League Soccer side Atlanta, where he has made 21 appearances so far this season. No detail has been given about the sort of transfer fee that Chelsea will pay for the teenager.
