Chelsea manager Sarri charged with misconduct after Burnley draw

The Football Association have charged Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri with misconduct following an incident on the touchline during their match against Burnley on Monday night.

The Italian was sent off by referee Kevin Friend following a row between both benches in the final minutes of the 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge.

Sarri then waived his media duties following the match, with Chelsea alleging he was the target of abuse by members of Burnley’s coaching staff.

However Burnley manager Sean Dyche insisted that his team played no part in Sarri’s dismissal to the stands saying “it wasn’t anything to do with us why he got sent off.”

Sarri has until 6pm on Friday to respond to the charge.
