Chelsea are set to make a final late move to sign Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United on transfer deadline day, football.london understands. And Christopher Nkunku could hold the key to any deal being completed before the 11pm deadline passes.

The Blues are yet to make a signing this window but that could change by the end of the day. The Blues want a new left-sided winger and they remain interested in Garnacho and a move on deadline day is by no means out of the equation.

And football.london understands that Nkunku's situation could hold the key to any deal being done. Manchester United are desperate to sign a striker in this window and have been linked with a move to sign Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich, although reports overnight suggested that deal had collapsed.

Tel had already rejected an approach from Tottenham, but United had been seen as his preferred destination. United remain interested in Tel, but Nkunku could be an easier move to complete.

That is because of Chelsea's interest in Garnacho, that has been strong for much of the window. The two teams will be in discussions throughout the day and the pair could be on the move come 11pm.
