Chelsea have announced the Champions League trophy will be paraded around Stamford Bridge before their pre-season friendly against Tottenham.

The newly-crowned European champions are expecting a “near-capacity crowd” to return to Stamford Bridge for the Spurs game on August 4.

And Chelsea have confirmed they will parade the Champions League trophy in front of their fans for the first time since their triumph in Porto in May.

Thomas Tuchel’s side, who beat Manchester City 1-0 in the Champions League Final last season, are taking part in a triangular pre-season tournament alongside Spurs and Arsenal.

They face Arsenal away first on August 1 followed by the home game against Tottenham.

“At the match at Stamford Bridge, the Champions League trophy will be paraded for the first time since the glorious night in Porto back in May,” Chelsea confirmed on their website.

The Chelsea squad on Tuesday flew to Ireland to continue their pre-season preparations at a training camp in County Kildare.
