Chelsea plot first January transfer deal as injury timeline revealed for £19m star
Chelsea will look to find a loan move for Omari Kellyman in the January transfer window, football.london understands.
The 18-year-old completed a £19million move from Aston Villa in the summer transfer window but is yet to make an appearance for the senior side. Kellyman has made two appearances for the Development Squad in Premier League 2 but is currently recovering from a hamstring injury.
football.london understands Kellyman is targeting a return in November from the hamstring problem - where he hopes to be fit and available for the Development Squad before the January transfer window opens.
There were plans for Kellyman to go to the United States in the summer for Chelsea's pre-season tour but an ankle injury he sustained while at Aston Villa meant he was not fit enough in time to make the trip. It has been a really disappointing start to life at Chelsea on a personal level for Kellyman, who has big aspirations to make a name for himself at Stamford Bridge.
"That was a big attraction for me," Kellyman said about seeing the young talent already at Cobham. "I have seen young players stepping into the team and playing week in, week out, in the Premier League and I feel like I will be able to take my opportunity as and when it comes.
"I want to be successful in the Chelsea shirt; to win games and hopefully trophies. [Over time] hopefully, I can become one of the faces on the side of the stadium. I want to become a big player for this club."

He added: "It is fantastic to be standing here as a Chelsea player. It's a massive club with an amazing history, so it is great to join. It is a dream come true, for sure. I'm buzzing to have put on the shirt and can't wait to get started."
