Despite having the Premier League title and FA Cup to play for over the next month, league-leaders Chelsea are already thinking ahead to the summer transfer window, plotting a €65m bid for Inter Milan forward Ivan Perisic, according to reports in Italy.
The interest from the Blues comes after Manchester United marked their intent by preparing a £51m bid for the Croatian international.
Inter are relying on a big-money sale this summer as they attempt to abide by the Financial Fair Play rules.
Although Perisic has been star player for Inter this season, scoring 10 goals and providing five assists in 27 Serie A starts, it's thought that the Italian giants will accept a major bid from the Premier League in order to free up money for future transfers.
Inter are currently seventh in Serie A, missing the chance to leapfrog local rivals AC Milan after losing to Fiorentina in an action-packed 5-4 defeat in Florence.
Chelsea, meanwhile, look on course to win the Premier League title with their current advantage at the top of the table standing at four points.
