Chelsea star Reece James drops 10-word injury update with return date teased
Chelsea captain Reece James has told supporters he will see them 'soon' in the latest update on his recovery from injury.
James hasn't featured for the Blues this season after suffering a small injury in training. He managed to play just 11 games last season and has been unfortunate with injuries in the past two years.
James made two cameo appearances in May, totalling 30 minutes, but his injury setbacks meant he missed out on the England squad for Euro 2024. He did feature in the Blues' summer tour of the USA but the latest hamstring injury meant he has been forced to watch the start of the 2024/25 season from the stands.
He has been pictured in Cobham training ground since the season started and has posted images of him in the gym. His recovery isn't expected to be rushed by Enzo Maresca with Malo Gusto performing so well at right-back.
On Instagram on Tuesday night, James posted an update that included how he was dealing with his latest setback. Alongside a series of images, including one with Enzo Fernandez and designer Olaolu Slawn, he wrote: "Long story short I'm doing well. Hope to see you soon."
Before Saturday's 4-2 Premier League win over Brighton & Hove Albion, Chelsea boss Maresca confirmed there was no update on James' recovery. Last month, the Italian said: "The most important thing is players come back when they are 100% fit.

"Reece is still out. Unfortunately, we don't have an idea at the moment [when he'll be back]. In this case, he's been very unlucky."
On James' Instagram post, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Fernandez were first to post their reaction to his update. Dewsbury-Hall wrote: "Can't wait." Fernandes added: "VAAAAMOS HERMANO," which translates to 'come on brother'.
