Willian says he's staying at Chelsea amid Barcelona links

Willian has responded to transfer speculation linking him with a move to Barcelona by insisting that his future is at Chelsea.

Standard Sport reported on Friday that Barcelona are considering making a second bid for Willian after having an offer rejected by Chelsea on Thursday.

The LaLiga club proposed a £50million deal which would see Malcom, whom they bought from Bordeaux for £38m last summer, going the other way.

Chelsea do not want to lose a player of Willian’s experience - though the 30-year-old has just 18 months left on his deal. No talks are planned just yet, while the club have a policy of offering only 12-month deals to players in their 30s.

However, Willian's stunning goal to seal a 2-1 win over Newcastle on Saturday further proved his importance to the club, with Maurizio Sarri unwilling to see the winger leave this month.

Following the win, Willian was asked about the recent speculation but told Sky Sports: "My future is here at Chelsea, I don't know what you are talking about!"

When pressed about specific newspaper stories, Willian added with a smile: "I don't see newspapers."

Fellow goalscorer Pedro also added: "Your future is here, I think!"
