Chelsea are set to sign Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer at the end of his Fulham contract on June 30.

The centre-back will be Enzo Maresca's first signing at Stamford Bridge having impressed for the Cottagers since joining from Manchester City's academy in 2020. Adarabioyo made 25 appearances across all competitions for Fulham last term.

And a series of historical posts on X, formerly known as Twitter, have emerged which show Adarabioyo's interest in the Blues from a young age. The posts from between 2012 and 2016 include him heaping praise on Chelsea legends Didier Drogba and Eden Hazard.

"Drogba is an absolute badman though, I love him" One tweet said. Another said: "Great finish by Hazard!" And "Hazard is a problem," followed by two flame emojis.

Maresca will know Adarabioyo well having worked with him at City's academy. The 26-year-old was also of interest to Newcastle but has opted to join the West London club instead.

The defender wants to play right at the very top. He has big ambitions to get into the England setup eventually, as he revealed in an interview with The Times earlier in the year.

"England have good centre-halves like [John] Stones, but I would definitely back myself to be a top international footballer," he said. "Every player has ambitions to reach those tournaments, just like I have ambitions to reach the highest points of club football, too.

"We all know my contract is up in the summer but all things are still possible. My main focus is on having a good end to the season."
