Chelsea are still yet to make their first signing of the summer transfer window.

A plethora of targets have been linked with the club, most notably Cristiano Ronaldo after the Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital-led takeover at Stamford Bridge - and then there are the links with Neymar.

Raheem Sterling is set to sign to bolster the attack but Raphinha of Leeds remains a potential signing caught in limbo.

In defence, Matthijs de Ligt and Nathan Ake are both targets after Andreas Christensen was confirmed as a Barcelona player.

Here is your latest update of Chelsea transfer news and rumours...

Cristiano Ronaldo

Thomas Tuchel is reluctant to sign a superstar who could disrupt the squad in the way Romelu Lukaku did last summer, according to Standard Sport’s Nizaar Kinsella.

Likewise, The Sun add that the German will have to give the green light after initial talks between Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes, and Boehly over a shock switch.

Manchester United have, as reported by the Mirror, ruled out a sale to Chelsea regardless as they do not want to strengthen a rival - a position they may find difficult to maintain given Bayern Munich’s lack of interest in a bid.

Reports from Sky in Germany report that Juventus defender De Ligt is keen on a move to Bayern Munich.

Italian media have long claimed that Juve want £95million for the Dutchman, warding off Chelsea’s interest ahead of contract negotiations about a renewal in Turin.

Yet it is now said that Bayern are ready to bid £51m for De Ligt, who would cost only £68m. Chelsea are described as more likely to meet that figure yet Munich is named as his preference.

Raphinha

Speaking of Chelsea stumping up the cash but the player not being keen, Raphinha has been told by Barcelona he may have to wait until January to seal a move to the Camp Nou.

Financial problems at Barcelona mean they are yet to meet Leeds’ demands for the Brazilian winger’s transfer despite his desire to move to the Spanish giants.

The Telegraph report on Chelsea potentially losing patience having agreed a £55m fee with Leeds and the outline of Raphinha’s personal terms, should he give up on his dream transfer.
