Chelsea and new owner Todd Boehly are in the process of landing their first signing of the summer transfer window.

After losing Antonio Rudiger to Real Madrid, and with Andreas Christensen set to be confirmed as a Barcelona player, the Blues are in dire need of a new centre-back or two.

Jules Kounde of Sevilla is reportedly the first-choice target for the Blues while Leicester’s Wesley Fofana is on their radar.

In terms of outgoings, the future of Romelu Lukaku is the big question mark and Inter Milan wing-back Denzel Dumfries has been named as a potential makeweight in that deal.

Here is your latest update of Chelsea transfer news and rumours...

Jules Kounde

Chelsea are reportedly in advanced talks with Jules Kounde over his personal terms ahead of a move from Sevilla.

An official transfer offer is still yet to arrive from the Blues, according to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, despite the deal being considered very likely to take place.

Kounde’s release clause stands at £68million but Chelsea are set to pay just £55m for his signature.

Lukaku’s move to Inter - more on that shortly - has seen a number of players become linked with Chelsea as part of a swap deal.

Lautaro Martinez, Alessandro Bastoni and Milian Skriniar have all been named, and now Dutch wing-back Denzel Dumfries has emerged as an option.

The right wing-back would provide cover for Reece James and allow Cesar Azpilicueta to focus on central defensive duties, if La Gazzetta dello Sport’s link proves correct.

Romelu Lukaku

After paying £98m to sign Romelu Lukaku from Inter, Chelsea are demanding a £21m fee to loan him back to the Nerazzurri after just a single season back at Stamford Bridge.

Goal detail the club’s acceptance in letting the Belgian leave with the player himself happy to take a 40 per cent pay cut to return to Inter on loan.

Gabriel Jesus is considered the Blues’ preferred replacement, in a £45m move from Manchester City, should Lukaku depart.

Wesley Fofana

French outlet RMC Sport name Chelsea and Manchester United as the big rivals for Wesley Fofana.

Under contract until 2027, the centre-back is reportedly valued at around £70m by Leicester after his return from a broken leg late in the season.

The 21-year-old continues to receive rave reviews and would have been called up to the France national team this month, to replace the injured Raphael Varane, had he not been tied up with his wedding.
