Chelsea will be hoping to carry on the winning momentum when they host an Everton team bereft of confidence and without a manager in the EFL Cup tonight.

Following successive league defeats to Manchester City and Crystal Palace, Antonio Conte's side beat an in-form Watford team 4-2 at Stamford Bridge at the weekend to seemingly get themselves back on track.

In contrast, Everton's positive start to the season has taken a drastic turn for the worse and the 5-2 loss at home to Arsenal on Sunday the final straw for the Toffees hierarchy and Ronald Koeman was sacked on Monday afternoon.

David Unsworth will take charge of the visitors this evening and no doubt keen to impress against a Chelsea team who have proven to be vulnerable this season.

What they said

Charly Musonda: "I was pleased with the Nottingham Forest game because it was my full debut for the club and to start at the Bridge was an unbelievable experience, and I was pleased with the result as well.

"I was very happy to hit the ground running in my first start. My goal was a typical one for me. My goals are either close-range shooting or dribbling and shooting, and it was a good goal.

"I was not expecting such a great atmosphere in a League Cup game but the stadium was full and I was very moved by that to be honest."

David Unsworth: "Who wouldn't want the job? I want to manage and this is an amazing club to be manager of. I make no secret of it.

"The chairman has given me an opportunity to hopefully get a run of games where hopefully performance levels go up. From that, performances will dictate any future for me as Everton manager.

"We had a great session this morning, the players were fine, they were buzzing. The players reacted straight away."
