Chelsea vs Grimsby Town lineups: Confirmed team news, starting XIs and injury latest for Carabao Cup

Callum Hudson-Odoi returns from injury to line up in a young Chelsea starting XI against Grimsby in the Carabao Cup tonight.

Frank Lampard, a two-time winner of the competition during his playing days at Stamford Bridge, sees his side host the Sky Bet League Two outfit in the third round.

Like most Premier League managers, the 41-year-old has rotated his side as he juggles three different competitions in the early months of the season.

Having already given chances to the likes of Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount and Fikayo Tomori in the Premier League, Lampard has afforded more youngsters a chance tonight.

Reece James and Hudson-Odoi make their injury comebacks, but Emerson Palmieri, Antonio Rudiger and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are all out, with Andreas Christensen (knee) a doubt.

That means Marc Guehi starts in defence, with Billy Gilmour hanbded a midfield role - and there is also a start for Christian Pulisic, who has struggled for game time since his £58million move from Borussia Dortmund.
