Chelsea FC vs Liverpool: Prediction, kick off time, TV, live stream, team news, h2h results - match preview

Chelsea and Liverpool collide in a high-profile Premier League showdown this afternoon as both teams try to stay in touch with runaway leaders Manchester City in the title race.

City have opened up a commanding 11-point lead at the top, with Rodri’s last-gasp winner at Arsenal sealing an 11th straight victory on Saturday.

Jurgen Klopp initially cast doubt over whether Liverpool will be able to fulfil the game after they recorded three new Covid cases in their squad last week, while the manager himself is now isolating after a suspected positive test.

But the game is going ahead and assistant Pepijn Lijnders will lead the Reds instead, while Romelu Lukaku has been dropped completely by Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel after his explosive interview with Sky Sports in Italy in which he expressed his frustration with life at Stamford Bridge.

A loss here would likely be a hammer blow for either side’s title ambitions, so it seems reasonable to expect a relatively cagey affair.
