Chelsea face the reigning Premier League champions Manchester City to kick off their league campaign. For the second time in two seasons, the Blues face one of the 'Big Six' after Liverpool visited Stamford Bridge in the English top-flight curtain-raiser last season.

Enzo Maresca faces one of the toughest tests of the season in his competitive bow as Chelsea manager. The Italian was appointed as Mauricio Pochettino after the Argentine was relieved of his duties in the capital, despite the difficult start, there will be expectations on a strong performance from the hosts as they look to challenge at the top end of the table.

Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal have all picked up opening day wins after overcoming Fulham, Ipswich and Wolves in their first Premier League outings. Chelsea have strengthened this summer with a host of fresh faces but uncertainty surrounds the future of Ben Chilwell and Conor Gallagher who have been widely tipped to find new pastures.
