When you spend over £1billion on new players in such a short space of time, you have to accept your losses at times. Unfortunately for Chelsea, they may have to do that in the near future.

Many players signed in recent years simply haven't worked. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly are three players who failed to impress in west London.

In the January transfer window, there may be more players who could be sold after their struggles. Mykhailo Mudryk, who is part of Enzo Maresca's 'B' team this season, is one of them and there are clubs circling over a possible loan move.

With that in mind, we take a look at the latest transfer news and gossip coming out of Stamford Bridge.

Guehi transfer clause clear

Sources relating to Marc Guehi have claimed that Chelsea are in a strong position to bring the defender back to the club due to his love for the club. According to TEAMtalk, the Blues also have first refusal to match any offers for the England international as well as a 20% sell-on clause.

The report also adds that sources are adamant that if Chelsea did come in for him, Guehi would be 'tempted and interested' in a move to Stamford Bridge.

football.london says: "Guehi returning to Chelsea has already seemed like one of them transfers that will happen eventually. News that they have a sell-on clause inserted, as well as first refusal, significantly bolsters their chances, if they did want to sign him.

"Maresca is already gifted at centre-back with Wesley Fofana and Levi Colwill performing at such a high level. However, the Blues will be hoping to be in the Champions League next season and they will need quality beyond their first XI."

Mudryk loan deal

Crystal Palace have been touted as one of the possible clubs that could hand Mudryk a Premier League lifeline in the January transfer window.

According to FourFourTwo, Chelsea are aware of interest in the top flight of England for Mudryk but there is also interest from Ligue 1 side Marseille. Former Premier League scout Mick Brown, who worked for Man United, told Football Insider how the winger may have to move on for more game time.

“I hear they’re keen to move him on in January,” he said. “I think they’ve got the makings of a very good team at Chelsea, but he isn’t likely to be a part of that."

football.london says: "A move to Palace could work out perfectly for Chelsea, especially when you consider the news surrounding Guehi. Swap deals aren't as prominent in the market as they once were but Mudryk's services could be used to bring down the price for Guehi.

"Mudryk arrived in England with such high expectations but it hasn't worked. Minus a flew splashes in the pan, the Ukraine international has struggled for one reason or another. A loan move, where he is one of the star players, is exactly what he needs."
