Cheltenham Town boss Michael Flynn concerned over Arkell Jude-Boyd international duty following recent injury return
Cheltenham Town boss Michael Flynn admits he has concerns over Arkell Jude-Boyd's readiness for international duty with St Lucia.
The summer signing from QPR has just recovered from a hamstring injury suffered as he scored his first EFL goal at Chesterfield, keeping him out for six weeks.
The 21-year-old has made three substitute appearances for the Robins since returning to action, but he has not yet played for longer than half an hour and he will be away for Saturday's League Two trip to MK Dons.
Jude-Boyd went on from the bench 64 minutes into St Lucia's 4-0 Concacaf Nations League defeat by Grenada on Friday, with Curacao their opponents on Monday.
"Arkell will be a miss from the squad and I didn't think he was quite ready to go away," Flynn said.
"Once he was called up, the decision is out of my hands and it has to be a personal decision, but even if he hadn't gone, we couldn't have used him because of the rules.
"It’s a difficult one because we were managing him after his injury so we were confident of him not having a relapse.
"Now with the travelling, lack of sleep etc... hopefully he doesn’t get injured."
