Cheltenham Town Women sign midfielder from Forest Green Rovers
Cheltenham Town Women have signed midfielder Brooke Ellis from Forest Green Rovers Women.
Ellis admitted that while being only 17, she is excited at the prospect of playing for the third tier club at a young age.
“This is the level I want to be in terms of my own development and although I’m 17, I feel that getting early exposure to the women’s game can develop my performance as well as game understanding," she said.
"I believe Cheltenham will be the best place for that.
Ellis has previously represented Wales and played at county level before moving into college football, and has recently been selected for England Colleges for the 2042/25 season.
Ellis got into football through her aunt and uncle, who had played before and influenced her to start playing as a defensive midfielder.
To the fans, Ellis said: “I would say I bring an element of enthusiasm and drive to the squad and hope that I can show that and get started in a good way.”
Cheltenham play Stockport County away in the FA Women's National League Plate on Sunday (2pm).
