CHERRIES loanee Christian Saydee has capped his first month on loan at Shrewsbury Town with an award.

The 20-year-old, who joined the League One club four weeks ago, has been voted as the club's player of the month for September.

The striker has made an instant impact in Shropshire, scoring two goals in his four appearances.

After blanks in his first two outings, having come on as a substitute, Saydee started and scored in fixtures against both Port Vale and his former loan club Burton Albion.

Saydee, who has made six senior appearances for Cherries, has also spent time out on loan at non-league Poole Town and Weymouth in recent years.

Discussing the former Reading youngster, Shrewsbury boss Steve Cotterill said: "He is another one that is getting up to speed.

"We need to get him performing in the last 20 minutes of games as he does in the first 20 minutes of games.

"He has done great since he came in. He’s a young boy but has fitted in great with the group, as all the loan signings have."

Salop sit ninth in the table and head to Cheltenham Town tomorrow.
